I like a lot of the policies Trump is running through here but if I were him I’d be wanting to get to the economy pretty soon.
Trump celebrates his first-term deregulation accomplishments and promises to turbocharge them in his second term. He’ll have a lot of work to do repealing Biden’s record-setting regulatory expansion, which added about $1.8 trillion in costs to the already too large federal regulatory code.
@rponnuru according to Heritage, keeping to the Paris climate agreements would have cost $2.5 trillion in GDP reduction. That’s the only way Trump’s statement makes sense: future losses avoided.
Was the Paris accord costing us trillions, as Trump says? My understanding is that little of it was binding.

Republicans were fools to get baited by Joe Biden into a shouting match with the president in 2023. Democrats seem to have learned nothing from that, with 77 year old Al Green getting ejected from the House while waving his gold-handled cane like something out of the antebellum House.
