A Look at President Trump’s 15th Wave of Judicial Nominees

Yesterday, President Trump announced his 15th wave of judicial nominees, which includes two nominees to the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Sixth Circuit, and one nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

This is yet another outstanding tranche of appellate court nominees who bring a wealth of experience to the table with their nominations.  Eric Murphy (Sixth Circuit) is the current Solicitor General of Ohio, joining the ranks of several other highly qualified state solicitors general (including Andy Oldham, Britt Grant, Patrick Wyrick, and Andrew Brasher) who have been nominated to the federal bench by President Trump.  Chad Readler (Sixth Circuit) currently serves as the Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Division at the Department of Justice, and oversees the largest litigating division at DOJ.  And Jonathan Kobes has significant experience as a federal prosecutor in South Dakota, in the private sector, and currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Counsel to the U.S Senate.
