Beldar: Not Cronyism

Beldar responds to Barnett here. I think Beldar makes many good arguments, such as that the successful practice of private law is a valuable qualification for the Supreme Court and that it is unfair to compare Miers to Justice Abe Fortas. Yet these arguments only go so far. It is one thing to argue (as I have) that some of Miers’ critics are being unfair. It is quite another to argue that Miers is a good pick for the Court.
