Busy Judiciary Approves Raft of Nominees

The Senate Judiciary Committee is wasting no time in moving President Obama’s judicial nominees. This morning it reported out five appellate nominees and over twenty district court nominees.  Three of the appellate nominees were approved by a voice vote.  These were Carolyn McHugh and Nancy Moritz, both nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and John Owens, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Michelle Friedland, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was approved 14-3, and David Barron, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, was approved 10-8.
