A Fox Synopsis

On Fox News Sunday this morning, Chris Wallace interviewed three men at once about Harriet Miers: conservative activist Gary Bauer, Senator Lindsey Graham, and Texas supreme court justice Nathan Hecht. Herewith my synopsis of their observations about Miers:

Bauer: It’s extremely disappointing that the president has nominated this terribly underqualified woman about whom we know practically nothing.

Graham: This president can be implicitly trusted to appoint someone good to the Supreme Court, and we should give the woman the chance to state her views in her upcoming hearings, at which I will defend her right not to answer pointed questions about important precedents.

Hecht: I know Harriet is pro-life, so you can add my character reference to the president’s, but everyone knows you can’t ask her about her views on Roe v. Wade.

Sigh. One could forgive Chris Wallace if he felt like a fox chasing his tail.
