The inability of Senator Reid to control his ranks and reach a reasonable time agreement has required majority leader Frist to file a cloture petition. As I understand it, the cloture vote will occur on Monday afternoon and the final vote on Alito’s confirmation will occur on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
Democrats will have had five days of Senate floor time on Alito.
