How various interest groups will line up with regard to a pending Supreme Court confirmation is quite predictable. And so today I was not surprised to receive a press release from Earthjustice announcing that some 60 environmental, conservation and Native American organizations from around the country have endorsed Sotomayor’s confirmation. The release claims that Sotomayor’s “record evinces no clear bias in favor of or against environmental claims,” and yet the groups still thought the nomination was sufficiently important to put out a release.
