As this New Haven Register article reports, New Haven’s Board of Fire Commissioners yesterday approved the promotions of 14 firefighters who were victorious in the Supreme Court’s ruling this past June in Ricci v. DeStefano. The formal promotional ceremony will take place on December 10.
Hearty congratulations to the firefighters and to their dedicated, talented, and indefatigable attorney, Karen Torre, on this successful conclusion to their five-year-long battle to vindicate their right not to be discriminated against on the basis of their race.
