Haynes in the Hot Seat

The Senate Judiciary Committee held a second confirmation hearing for William Haynes yesterday, and it seems to have been a tense affair.  Haynes sought to explain his role in the development of the administration’s policies on the detention and interrogation of enemy combatants, the New York Times reports .  Committee Democrats were quite critical, as was Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, the Washington Post reports .  How Appealing has a further round-up of hearing coverage here .
