‘Jon Kyl’s Impact on Judicial Confirmations’

In my new Confirmation Tales post, I offer a tribute of sorts to the late Senator Jon Kyl, as I review his important imprint on judicial nominations. I include some never-before-reported details on how he helped bring a merciful end to George W. Bush’s nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court in 2005.

I wish that we had many more senators, on both sides of the aisle, who displayed (as a longtime staffer of his puts it) the “sound judgment and high character” that Jon Kyl had. R.I.P.

I invite you to sign up for Confirmation Tales.
