In this week’s Confirmation Tales post, I take an Easter break from my usual narratives and instead pose some challenging judicial-confirmation trivia questions. This one is probably the easiest:
4. Who is the most recent Supreme Court justice to have been the third nominee to fill his/her seat?
Questions 1, 2, and 7 are probably the toughest:
1. Which federal judicial nominee received the highest number of negative votes from senators of the same party as the president who nominated him/her?
2. Which federal judicial nominee received the secondhighest number of negative votes from senators of the same party as the president who nominated him/her?
7. Who is the most recent Supreme Court nominee to be confirmed on a voice vote?
If you can get one of these three correct (without cheating), my hat’s off to you. Ditto if you can get three of the seven total answers correct.
I invite you to sign up for Confirmation Tales.
