Justice French

Last week, Ohio Governor appointed Judge Judith French to fill a vacancy on the Ohio Supreme Court.  Judge French currently serves on the 10th District Court of Appeals, previously served as a counsel for Ohio Governor Bob Taft and Attorney General Betty Montgomery, and also worked in private practice.  Among other things, she argued two cases in the Supreme Court on behalf of the state, including the school vouchers case, Zelman v. Simmons-Harris.  I served on an informal advisory committee that helped Governor Kasich make this choice, and I believe Judge French will be an excellent justice.  I have more on the process that led to her selection at the VC.
