Long Hearings Ahead

Senator Specter predicts long confirmation hearings for Judge Alito — longer than for Judge Roberts — though he thinks a filibuster is unlikely. According to the Washington Post, “he believes the nominee’s fate will turn largely on “how credible he is” at the panel’s confirmation hearing, which begins Jan. 9.”
