Harry Reid might do everything in his power to block Senate Republicans from repealing Obamacare, but he can’t stop them from joining the 26 states and NFIB in challenging the law in the Eleventh Circuit. Briefs for the states, business owners, and individuals challenging the law were filed this week. My JCN colleague Carrie Severino will be filing briefs for a group of senators and Speaker Boehner on Wednesday.
Senator Hatch announced yesterday that he and Senate Republican Leader McConnell are circulating the brief to their fellow senators, many of whom are expected to join the brief. Kudos to these elected leaders who are taking seriously their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution, and to Carrie for her excellent work.
