More on Judicial Pay

Apropos of my article on the NRO homepage today, I would note that the Wall Street Journal’s “Law Blog” reports that federal district judges, at a 2006 salary of $165,200, make a good deal more than the median earnings of attorneys in the nation, which stood at $95,000 in 2004.

 

Matthew J. Franck is retired from Princeton University, where he was a lecturer in Politics and associate director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. He is also a senior fellow of the Witherspoon Institute, a contributing editor of Public Discourse, and professor emeritus of political science at Radford University.
