A New Chief on the D.C. Circuit

Monday was the Honorable David Sentelle’s last day as Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.  Sentelle, who was confirmed to the D.C. Circuit in 1987, has elected to take senior status.  As noted in this announcement from the court, Judge Merrick Garland, a Clinton nominee often mentioned as a possible Obama pick to the Supreme Court, is the court’s new chief.
