Law & the Courts

Newark and Philadelphia Events

Next Tuesday, October 11, I’ll be at Rutgers law school (Newark) to take part in a lunchtime discussion that has been titled “The Stall on Civil Liberties: The Legal and Social Implications of North Carolina’s Bill Banning Transgender Bathroom Use [sic].” (North Carolina’s much-misrepresented law does not, of course, bar individuals who identify as transgender from using bathrooms.) Lawyer Robyn Gigl will also take part, and Rutgers law professor Carlos Ball will moderate the discussion. The event is co-sponsored by the law school’s LGBTQ Caucus and its Federalist Society chapter.

On Wednesday, October 12, at noon, I’ll be at the University of Pennsylvania’s law school to discuss “Justice Scalia, the Supreme Court Vacancy, and the 2016 Presidential Election.” Penn law professor Kermit Roosevelt has kindly agreed to provide commentary on my remarks. The event is sponsored by the law school’s Federalist Society chapter. Details here.
