In response to the Center for Medical Progress’s shocking investigative videos about Planned Parenthood, Utah governor Gary R. Herbert announced that Utah would exercise its contractual rights to terminate, or to decline to renew, four contracts with the Planned Parenthood affiliate in Utah. Planned Parenthood then sued to block the governor’s intended actions.
Today a federal district court in Utah issued an order denying Planned Parenthood’s motion for a preliminary injunction. So as of New Year’s Day Utah’s four contracts with Planned Parenthood will have expired.
