Yesterday a prominent Supreme Court advocate e-mailed me this reaction to the NYT hit job on Justice Thomas:
My favorite line: “adding fuel to a rising debate about Supreme Court ethics.”
Who exactly is doing the “debating”? The NYT with its editorial board? This “debate”, or rather a series of drive-by slanders by the Times of conservative justices, is wholly sustained by the Times’s endless proclivity to slime people it disagrees with.
The “news” account will doubtless be followed by the inevitable house editorial hyping the “investigative” piece and descending further into name-calling, all the better to promote needed “ethical” “reforms.”
