In a post a couple of years ago, I drew on the work of Israeli legal scholar Yonatan Green to sketch the truly bizarre features of the legal system in Israel, a system invented and imposed in recent decades by a series of massive power grabs by Israel’s supreme court.
I’m delighted to report that Green has now published a comprehensive book on the topic, Rogue Justice: The Rise of Judicial Supremacy in Israel. The distinguished (and demanding) legal scholar Richard Epstein hails the book as a “masterpiece” and credits Green with a “towering achievement in his relentless, astute, and readable dissection of Israel’s Supreme Court.” I happily concur with Epstein.
