Law & the Courts

So Was the Juice Worth the Squeeze?

It took four months longer than it should have, but Stanford law school dean Jenny Martinez has finally fired DEI associate dean Tirien Steinbach over her bizarre six-minute scolding of Judge Kyle Duncan and her ensuing repudiation of Stanford’s policies on free speech.

Oops, I guess that we need to pretend that Martinez is just “writ[ing] to share that Tirien Steinbach has decided that she will be leaving her role … to pursue another opportunity.”

Having broken the news of the incident in the first place as well as of Stanford’s apology to Judge Duncan, I will observe that Steinbach strikes me as an exemplar of what the DEI ideology promotes and encourages rather than as some sort of random rogue. So her departure will be meaningful in the long run only if it is a step in the dismantling of the DEI bureaucracy that plagues higher education.
