Supreme Court Roundup

For those in the Washington area, tomorrow (Friday, July 17, 2009) at 10 11 am Heritage will be hosting its annual “Scholars and Scribes” event reviewing the 2008-2009 Supreme Court term, and providing a preview of the next term.  Our scholars panel will include Michael Carvin, Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Counsel; Miguel Estrada, Former Assistant to the Solicitor General; Neal Katyal, Principal Deputy Solicitor General of the United States; and will be moderated by Todd Gaziano, Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.  The scribes panel will include Lyle Denniston, Reporter for SCOTUSblog; Quin Hillyer, Senior Editor Writer and Columnist for The Washington Times; Juan Williams, News Analyst for NPR; and will be moderated by some guy named Alt.  I’m reasonably sure that there will also be some discussion of recent events in the Senate.  You can learn more about the event and r.s.v.p. here.

Update: Please note that the original post erroneously said 10 am.  The event will start at 11, and will be covered by C-SPAN.

Robert Alt — Robert Alt is the president and chief executive officer of The Buckeye Institute.
