The Judiciary Committee is in a lunch recess until 2:00. When the hearing resumes, four more senators (all Democrats) will deliver their 10-minute opening statements. Senators Schumer and Gillibrand will next introduce Sotomayor. And Sotomayor will then give her opening testimony. If all goes as efficiently as possible, Sotomayor’s testimony might start as early as 2:50 or so. But I’d bet on no earlier than 3:00.
