Bloomberg’s article on the witnesses to testify at Judge Sotomayor’s confirmation hearing is titled “Sotomayor’s Challengers Will Call White Firefighter to Testify.” Although the article notes halfway through that one of the plaintiff firefighters in the New Haven case was Hispanic, it doesn’t see fit to mention that that Hispanic firefighter, Lt. Ben Vargas, will testify alongside Frank Ricci. Similarly, the articles in the New York Times and National Journal highlight Ricci and mention Vargas only in the full list of witnesses.
