Bachmann Also Giving SOTU Response Speech

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R., Minn.) will be delivering a speech in response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech Tuesday night.

Bachmann’s response will be aired on the Tea Party Express website.

Republican congressional leadership announced earlier today that Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wisc.) would be delivering the official GOP response to the President’s SOTU speech.

UPDATE: Levi Russell, communications director for the Tea Party Express, says that Bachmann’s response will not be on the Tea Party Express site until after Ryan’s remarks have been given.

“We planned this event several weeks ago, long before we knew that Rep. Ryan would be giving the official Republican response,” wrote Russell in an e-mail to National Review Online. “We wanted a tea party champion to represent us and give a response, and so were thrilled when Rep. Bachmann accepted the invitation. Out of respect, her response will go live shortly after Rep. Ryan finishes his comments.”

Students’ Anti-Gun Views

Are children innocents or are they leaders? Are teenagers fully autonomous decision-makers, or are they lumps of mental clay, still being molded by unfolding brain development? The Left seems to have a particularly hard time deciding these days. Take, for example, the high-school students from Parkland, ... Read More

Kill Chic

We live in a society in which gratuitous violence is the trademark of video games, movies, and popular music. Kill this, shoot that in repugnant detail becomes a race to the visual and spoken bottom. Romney Is a Misfit for America

Mitt’s back. The former governor of Massachusetts and occasional native son of Michigan has a new persona: Mr. Utah. He’s going to bring Utah conservatism to the whole Republican party and to the country at large. Wholesome, efficient, industrious, faithful. “Utah has a lot to teach the politicians in ... Read More
