One of the most misleading parts of Obamacare was the lie told repeatedly by President Obama that “if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it.” It was one of Obama’s big selling points — and turned out to be untrue for thousands of Americans.
Story after story came out of individuals who had to switch doctors and insurance companies. In a recent interview, former Obama speech writers made a mockery of the American people when they laughed heartily about the infamous line.
“Lovett wrote the line, ‘If you like your plan, you can keep it,’” said one of the speechwriters in reference to Jon Lovett. The three writers then laughed, noting sarcastically – ”That’s still true.”
Obamacare continues to encounter failure after failure as state exchanges shut down and the worst parts of the law are repealed piece by piece. How many more lines from Obamacare speeches were just that — lines to reel in an unsuspecting audience eager for health-care solutions? Obama was so intent on cementing a legacy of health-care reform that he lied again and again to push his platform through.
Now, Americans are left to deal with the consequences — in no small part thanks to his breathtaking mendacity.
