Representative Frank Pallone (D., NJ) condemned the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s hearing on problems facing the Obamacare online exchanges as a “monkey court.” Pallone refused to yield to Joe Barton’s (R., Texas) questions. Barton was raising concerns over the security of users’ private information and the access federal contractors have to it.
“No, I will not yield to this monkey court, or whatever this thing is!” Pallone said.
“This is not a monkey court,” Barton fired back, arguing that protecting users’ private information was a legitimate concern of the committee.
“I am not yet yielding!” the New Jersey Democrat shouted before carrying on.
