A Fitting Tribute to Daniel Pearl

I discovered tonight — quite by accident, as I surfed Internet radio stations that play world music — that Live 365 has a station honoring Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was executed by Islamofascists in 2002. The station plays music from many countries – in just the past half hour I heard a Sufi rock band from Pakistan, a Canadian folk group, and a Persian traditional-music ensemble — and seeks to promote a global culture of peace and tolerance. These are exactly the values for which Daniel Pearl gave his life twelve years ago, when he was killed by theocrats who seek to impose religion by the sword.

If you have an interest in the world’s amazing musical diversity, please check out this station.
