The Government Is On It!

Did you know that there is a U.S. government agency dedicated to helping Americans make more usable websites? Check out Usability.gov:

Usability.gov is the primary government source for information on usability and user-centered design. It provides guidance and tools on how to make Web sites and other communication systems more usable and useful.

This site was developed to specifically assist Web managers, designers, usability specialists, and others create Web sites that are highly responsive, easy-to-use, and useful.

It’s run out of HHS but everyone is working on it together:

Although this is a collaborative effort involving many federal agencies, the HHS Web Communications and New Media Division in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs has primary responsibility for managing this Web site.

Thank goodness the government is here to help. I mean it’s not like there’s a market out there for this sort of thing. Why, I bet Julia would never have become a web designer if she didn’t have the HHS Web Communications and New Media Division in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs watching her back.

Obstruction Confusions

In his Lawfare critique of one of my several columns about the purported obstruction case against President Trump, Gabriel Schoenfeld loses me — as I suspect he will lose others — when he says of himself, “I do not think I am Trump-deranged.” Gabe graciously expresses fondness for me, and the feeling is ... Students’ Anti-Gun Views

Are children innocents or are they leaders? Are teenagers fully autonomous decision-makers, or are they lumps of mental clay, still being molded by unfolding brain development? The Left seems to have a particularly hard time deciding these days. Take, for example, the high-school students from Parkland, ... Read More
