Group Cancels Palin Appearance, Citing Security Worries

A Colorado foundation that helps military families has cancelled a scheduled Sarah Palin appearance because of “safety concerns.”

“Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns,” said Leo Pacheco, director of the Sharon K Pacheco Foundation, in a Facebook note.

Pacheco said no direct threats had been made. The 2011 Patriots and Warriors Charity Gala had been scheduled for May 2nd.
