In the fight over defense spending, the first round has been fought between Congress and the Pentagon. Congress won by a knockout.

So says Chet Nagle, who knows what he’s talking about. Cuts to the tune of more than a trillion dollars over ten years, Marines cut by 30 percent, all nuclear bombers eliminated, etc. etc. It’s Jimmy Carter redux. So much for “Obama is continuing Bush’s national-security policy.”
