A Hardball Question?

A controversy has arisen over Sandy Berger advising Hillary Clinton. Former National Security Advisor Berger, you’ll recall, stole classified documents from the National Archives. Then he destroyed them.

Put aside, for the moment, whether it is smart for Senator Clinton to be picking his brains now and signaling that she might have him on her team in 2009.

Focus instead on this: If he’s advising her, surely she’s asked him what documents he stole and why. Berger has never told his fellow Americans.

Shouldn’t some journalist at least ask Senator Clinton what she has learned about this crime?
