Inspector General Report: DEA Agents Allegedly Held ‘Sex Parties’ with Prostitutes at Overseas Office

Several Drug Enforcement Administration agents attended “sex parties” with prostitutes while working at an overseas office, according to a report from the Justice Department’s inspector general.

“The misconduct occurred for several years while these special agents held Top Secret clearances,” the report says. “Many of these agents were alleged to have engaged in this high-risk sexual behavior while at their government-leased quarters, raising the possibility that DEA equipment and information also may have been compromised as a result of the agents’ conduct.”

The sex parties involved prostitutes who were working with the support of drug cartels, according to the report. One foreign police officer told the inspector general’s office that three DEA officials had even received “money, weapons, and expensive gifts from drug cartel members.”

“Although some of the DEA agents participating in these parties denied it, the information in the case file suggested they should have known the prostitutes in attendance were paid with cartel funds,” the report says.

Eventually, seven DEA officials admitted to attending parties with prostitutes, and the DEA disciplined the agents with suspensions ranging between two and ten days. In some instances, the report states, DEA chose never to inform security personnel about the alleged incidents, or waited to inform security personnel until well after the incidents took place. A DEA spokesman declined to comment to NR on the findings of the report.
