Iran: A Last Resort

Today on Uncommon Knowledge, former Secretary of State and current Hoover Institution fellow Condoleezza Rice discusses Iran – and the option the American President must always keep on the table.

I think you always want to try to make the diplomacy work before you countenance a military action with Iran, which has enormous potential for unintended consequences throughout the region … People say it should be a last resort. I have never said that. But it certainly is not the first resort, you try other things … President Bush always said, the American president should keep his option for a military strike on the table. And it may well be that the time is approaching when that is going to be a necessity.
