McCain: Boots on the Ground Would Mean Impeachment

Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.) said yesterday that President Obama will be impeached if he puts boots on the ground in Syria.

“No one wants American boots on the ground,” McCain said. “Nor will there be American boots on the ground because there would be an impeachment of the president if they did that.”

McCain made the remarks to Phoenix, Arizona-based KFYI. The interview is embedded above and his statement on impeaching President Obama begins at the 2:07 mark.

The senior Arizona senator also slammed Obama’s handling of Syria, arguing that he had “bungled this beyond belief.”

“I can’t believe how badly he’s mishandled this issue,” McCain said.
