More from the Man-Caused Disaster and Overseas Contingency Operations Front

In regard to President Obama’s purported directive to do away with the hurtful term “Islamic radicalism,” one wonders what the latest al-Qaeda would-be NYC mass murderer, Najibullah Zazi, the Fort Hood mass-murderer Maj. (“Soldier of Allah”) Hasan, and the wannabe Christmas Day mass-murderer Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab all had in common. Christian fundamentalism? Sufi mysticism? Hindu liberalism? Buddhist liberalism?

And who is being held in the not-closed-down-as-promised Guantanamo Bay, whom are the vastly increased Predator strikes daily obliterating in Waziristan, whom are we supposedly to put on civilian trial in New York City, and which terrorists are we at the summit in Washington worried will get nuclear materials? Or are we to suppose that “we are now free of that inordinate fear of” Islamic radicalism?

The Gun-Control Debate Could Break America

Last night, the nation witnessed what looked a lot like an extended version of the famous “two minutes hate” from George Orwell’s novel 1984. During a CNN town hall on gun control, a furious crowd of Americans jeered at two conservatives, Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch, who stood in defense of the Second ... Read More
