Nicole Gelinas on American Capitalism

Our fellow cornerite Nicole Gelinas is one of the Right’s brightest lights on economics. Her new book is a must-read, and she has written some of the best and clearest arguments about financial reform in the wake of the economic crisis.

Next Thursday at the National Press Club in Washington, National Affairs and City Journal will co-host a breakfast discussion with Nicole about the state of the economy, the administration’s proposals for financial regulation, and the nature of the free market in our times. She will be joined by the Cato Institute’s Gerald O’Driscoll (another of America’s foremost analysts of financial regulation and economic policy, and former editor of the Index of Economic Freedom), and I’ll have the pleasure of moderating.

The event is free (and breakfast is too), you just need to register here.

During a CNN town hall on gun control, a furious crowd of Americans jeered at two conservatives, Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch, who stood in defense of the Second ... Read More
