Obama & His iPhone

Apparently Barack Obama had quite a bit of trouble using an iPhone on the campaign trail. The inestimable Instapundit and others see this as a good opportunity to ding the president for his mocking of Rutherford B. Hayes. Here’s Instapundit’s poster:

That’s all fine and good. I like Rutherford B. Hayes as much as the next guy. But it seems to me the person who should really be rubbing it in isn’t Hayes but John McCain. In 2008 the Obama campaign ridiculed McCain because he “didn’t know how to send an email.” To the extent that was true, it wasn’t because he was out of touch, it was because the Viet Cong had done such a number on him he physically couldn’t use a keyboard or a Blackberry. That was McCain’s excuse. What’s Obama’s?
