Outreach to al Qaeda?

James Taranto takes note of the “senior al-Qaida leader” captured in Iraq (“Haven’t we been hearing for years that al Qaeda has nothing to do with Iraq?”), and the statement on al-Jazeera from Ayman al-Zawahri, the Al-Qaeda VP for Global Operations, that Bush should be negotiating with his organization. (“Well, heck, why not? After all, you don’t negotiate with your friends, you negotiate with your enemies! And Reagan negotiated with the ‘evil empire’!”)

Worth reading – amusing and enlightening (as Taranto always is).
