Paul: Clapper Told An ‘Outright Lie,’ Broke the Law

Senator Rand Paul excoriated Director of National Intelligence James Clapper for telling Congress “an outright lie” during Clapper’s now-infamous March testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.  Appearing today on The Situation Room, the Kentucky Republican declared that “by lying to Congress, which is against the law, he [Clapper] damaged the credibility of the entire intelligence community.”  When pressed as to whether the DNI should resign, he responded, “The president has to decide that”; but Paul allowed that, were he president, he would demand Clapper’s exit: “Yes, he would not work in my administration.”
