Paul Manafort Must Have Been Rolling His Eyes

Perhaps we will learn that everyone involved in the Don Jr. meeting is lying about what really happened in it, but there is one detail that rings true to me from the current version of the story: Paul Manafort, the old pro on the Trump side of the meeting, was on his phone the entire time. This meeting certainly has the hallmarks of amateur hour and if it was, Manafort would have attended only to humor the son of the candidate, he would have known that these sort of over-the-transom promises of blockbuster information in a campaign almost never produce anything, he would have been on his phone while going through the motions, and he would have been thinking, Really, if we are going to collude, can’t we be a little more serious and professional about it?
