A Powerful Statement on the Election, from an Unlikely Source

If you read me with any frequency, you know I love the NBA. Basketball season is the best season, the present generation of NBA superstars contains some of America’s best athlete role models, and the game is being played at its highest level ever. Oh, and it has spawned the best show on sports television — NBA on TNT, with Shaq, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson. They talk basketball mostly, but they’ll veer off-topic, and when they do it’s often in surprising ways. Tonight, they addressed the election, and I appreciated each of their thoughts, but then Ernie Johnson stepped up. His statement is tempered with sadness, but it’s also full of faith and hope. It moved me.

Watch it all. You won’t regret it.
