On the other hand, I think you make some very good points. I did say I didn’t agree with the whole thing and I wanted to read it more carefully. I still haven’t had a chance. One possibility is that Pearlstein considers the tactics of a majority party not his own inherently “Nixonian” while seeing similar tactics of a party he supports to be “pragmatic” or simply legitimate.
But that doesn’t diminish your betrayal of everything true and good and noble and conservative. Hie thee to the Brookings Institution where you belong!
