Re: Coburn Slams Norquist

Grover Norquist responds via email:

Senator Coburn promised the people of Oklahoma he would oppose and vote against any net tax increase. Coburn then voted for Obama’s Simpson-Bowles commission plan that Paul Ryan points out raises taxes by two trillion dollars over the next decade.  Two trillion dollars in tax hikes . . . that is more than Obama’s $1.5 trillion increase. He is angry and embarrassed that Americans for Tax Reform is pointing this out.  George H.W. Bush felt the same way in 1990. The real problem is the tax hike will kill jobs in Oklahoma and America — not the public humiliation of having his tax hike plans exposed. Politicians always think it is about them.

During a CNN town hall on gun control, a furious crowd of Americans jeered at two conservatives, Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch, who stood in defense of the Second ... Read More
