Requiring Work

This has to be the least surprising poll in a decade: 83 percent of Americans say welfare recipients should be required to seek work. It’s mystifying, as I wrote yesterday, that Obama would choose to embrace this incredibly unpopular position. It was a bit overlooked in all the buzz about “you didn’t build that” — but it may turn out to be even more politically toxic.
