Strange Bedfellows Watch, Cont’d.

I just learned that, in Daniel Ortega’s Nicaragua, abortion is completely illegal. There used to be a loophole for cases involving threats to the life of the mother; that loophole was closed in 2006. (Ortega himself approves of this ban.)

Living in New York City, I was treated in recent months to seemingly countless attacks on mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio because he supported Mr. Ortega and his Sandinista party. A question for Mr. de Blasio (who is now the mayor-elect): Is this enough to give you second thoughts about Ortega and the Sandinistas?
