Thank the Red States (and others)

I’ve rarely been so delighted to be wrong as I am today about the failure of Debo Adegbile’s nomination to head the Justice Department’s civil rights division. Harry Reid has done his usual shameful best to smear Republicans as racists. Apparently when Democrats Joe Manchin (W. VA), Chris Coons (Del), Bob Casey (PA), Mark Pryor (Ark), Heidi Heitkamp (ND), Joe Donnelly (Ind), and John Walsh (MT) vote against a hard left nominee it’s because Republicans want to prevent black people from voting and are generally hateful. Actually, that’s a word that applies very well to the Majority Leader.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) first infantilizes its audience, then banalizes it, and, finally, controls it through marketing. This commercial strategy, geared toward adolescents of all ages, resembles the Democratic party’s political manipulation of black Americans, targeting that audience through its ... Read More
