Thank You, Jeff Sessions

Senator Sessions did a commendable job making the case against the Gang of Eight bill these last several weeks. When cant and political panic seemed to rule the day, he was substantive and serious. He couldn’t stop the bill in the Senate, but he identified many vulnerabilities that let’s hope — will make killing it in the House easier.

Speaking of which, read Jonathan Strong’s excellent report on what seem to be the bill’s dim prospects over in the House. (Although I won’t believe it’s dead until Steve King has shot it with a rifle, Joe Manchin-style.)
