W.’s Pickup Truck Goes for $300,000 at Auction

The pickup truck George W. Bush used on his Crawford, Texas, ranch brought in $300,000 at an auction over the weekend. The proceeds from the sale of the white 2009 Ford F-150 King Ranch 4×4 SuperCrew went to benefit the Fisher House Foundation, a military charity.

“I haven’t driven on a street in many, many years, but I have been able to drive this truck on my ranch,” the former president said in a written statement that accompanied the truck. Bush, who purchased the vehicle shortly after leaving the White House, also signed the passenger-side airbag panel for its new owner.

According to the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value, Bush’s truck went for about ten times the recommended $30,000 selling price.
