Paul Krugman’s Solution for Growth: Aliens

No, really. He uses as an example a pending alien invasion, and all of the government spending that would be needed to counter the threat. The kicker: If the threat doesn’t materialize, all of the wasted money on the alien invasion will somehow be good for the economy. So Bush’s borrowing to fight wars in Iraq and Afghanistan caused the mess, but a fake military buildup will get us out?
